Please describe your efforts towards participation and leadership. Did you take care to clean well? Mention if you were attentive at the beginning of class every day.
If I do anything well in ceramics, I believe that it would be my participation and leadership. First of all, I never goof off during class time. I try to squeeze every ounce of time that we are given during fourth period to make art. Sometimes I get a little heat for not cleaning up right on time, but it's not because I don't want to clean. It is because I become deeply involved in my work and at times it gets difficult to pull away from it and finish. I try to be attentive during the beginning of class but I get anxious sometimes because I never have enough time to finish everything that I want to accomplish that day. As an advanced student, I try to be a leader for the new students and I always make myself available for them. There have been many times that I have spent an entire period teaching a new student how to throw, foot, or glaze. I remember how much I struggles as a new student, and I want to help them succeed. Also, there have been multiple times that I have spent my class period mixing glazes for the class. I try to contribute to the good of the class and help others.
How often do you use the pass? Are you on task every day and all period? How social are you versus how much work do you do? How closely do you meet assignment deadlines?
I basically never use the pass. I think I have once, maybe. My 3rd period class is really close to the ceramics room so I have time to use to restroom or do whatever before class starts. Like I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I am on task every day all period. My main problem is that I never have enough time, so I always take advantage of all of the time that I can get. Ceramics is a fun class and I enjoy the company of a lot of the people in my class, so I'm not going to lie and say that I do not socialize. I talk to my friends but I don't think that I hinder myself from working at all. If I talk, I make sure that it does not distract me from my work. I like to throw without much talking. Meeting assignment deadlines is probably the thing that I have to work on the most. My work still is just too inconsistent for me to always meet the deadlines. Sometimes things work out and I can turn my project in on time, and other times everything just falls apart. Also I've been experimenting more this semester so the failures are coming a little more often.
